Name Spelling Bee

I will be presenting a Name Spelling Bee unit, created during my masters program, which serves as a gamified way to present basic media literacy, speaking, listening, and writing lessons mixed in with classroom procedure rehearsal.
It really focuses on mastering two Danielson domains - knowing and valuing students (1b) and (3c) engaging students with learning - within the first month of meeting them.

This unit takes material students are familiar with (their names) and takes them on an educational journey to learn more about themselves and classmates, to foster a teamwork environment before they spring into their first semester of project based learning.
