The Writing and the Common Core Conference will take place on Saturday, April 12th from 8:30 am-12:30 pm at Warren Township High School (Almond Campus—34090 Almond Rd, Gurnee).
Registration is $25 for IATE Members and $35 for nonmembers, including a continental breakfast, beverages, and snacks. The first 50 registrations will receive a free copy of Write Through Chicago by Mark Larson and Bob Boone.
This is an affordable conference for teachers who would like creative ways of integrating the Common Core into their classrooms. Sessions will reflect the varying ways in which these new standards may be aligned with creative practices.
Be one of the first fifty educators to register, and you’ll receive Write Through Chicago by Mark Larson and Bob Boone, a text that provides unique strategies for research and creative writing by using local history. Mr. Larson and Mr. Boone will open the day with a keynote presentation, and experienced educators from the Chicagoland area will present new ideas, including the incorporation of technology and assessment practices.
